Carmal crossing. Go to the 4 way stop at Oak Plains Rd. turn left. At the intersection at Thomasville you stay on the Thomasville Road. At the Poplar Ridge Road you turn left go about one half mile. At the Poplar Lane you turn right go about one half mile. You will see woods to the left behind a trailor on the west side of the road. This is where you can find the Martha Shepard Cemetery. There is only one marked grave. Martha Shepard Wife of Stephen Shepard Born 10-12-1807 Died 4-14-1877 There are about 25 other unmarked graves there. Martha Maddox married Stephen Shepard on 12-2-1828 in Prince Edwards Co. VA.
