He served in the 7th Virginia Regiment in Capt. Joseph Crockett's company and was in the battles of Morristown, Monmouth, Brunswick, Edgefield and at the taking of Burgoyne. His pension was transferred to Montgomery County, Ill., where his children lived as he wanted to be with them.
