Application For Pension


 Personally appeared in open 
court Conrod Kegg a citizen of 
sd. County and made oath that he 
enlisted as a private soldier in 
the year 1777 in the service of 
united states engaged in the 
revolutionary war for three years 
from the date of his elistment 
that he enlisted in North Hapton 
County in the state of 
Pennsylvania in Capt. Isaac Koren 
(Corenn) company in Col. James 
Proetors Regiment of artillery in 
the Pennsylvania line that he was 
in the battle of Brandywine and 
Germantown served his full term 
of enlistment and was honorable 
discharged about the 15th of Jun 
in the year 1780 by the said 
Capt. Koren (or Coren) that he 
has long since lost his original 
discharge.  I do solemnly swear 
... (viz) 1 mar and colt, the 
mare 16 years old $30, 1 other 
mare and colt, mare younger $40, 
10 small hogs $5, 4 old chairs 
$1, 10 pewter plates $2, 2 pots 
and one oven $4, 3 pails (old) 
$1, total $123.  That I am justly 
indebted to defendant jurors in 
the aggregate sum of $170 that I 
am by occupation a common 
labourer and am 66 years old and 
am unable to obtain a subsistence 
by my daily labor, am frequently 
afflicted with the rheumatism 
that my family consist of my wife 
aged about 56 years, tolerable 
healthy, and a son who is of age 
and doing for himself  I have 
raised fourteen children but they 
have all left me and are doing 
for themselves those of them who 
survive sworn to and subscribed 
by me in open court.  Conrod Kegg
