She was then 81 years of age and therefore born in 1764. She stated that her husband was captain in a North Carolina regiment and that he served eighteen months and was in the battles of Kong's Mountain and Guilford Court House. She married Salathiel Martin April 23, 1782, in Surry County, N. C. The Secretary of North Carolina testified that Salathiel Martin served in the Revolution as a captain of Dragoons.
