He was born Aug. 12, 1748, in Baltimore County, Md. He lived in Shenandoah County, Va., when he enlisted in October or November 1780 in Capt. Jacob Rinker's company, Col. Butler's Virginia regiment. He was in the battle of Guilford Court House. He enlisted again in May 1781 in Capt. William Reagan's company, Virginia Militia. He died Aug. 26, 1841, leaving a widow.
