In the summer of 1888 she was converted and joined the Methodist Church at Fort Grove, being only ten years old at the time. She loved her Church and delighted in the Sunday school work and was a faithful attendant as long as she was able to go. She was a sufferer for a long season, but during her illness she was patient and submitted all to him who understands and who has promised that through the valley he will lead us and under the shadow of death his presence will comfort us. It can be said of Miss Maggie that she prepared for her home going. She told her pastor two days before she went that there was nothing in the way, and with that hope of immortality in her soul she followed to the end her vision splendid. Realizing that she could not live long, she left nothing undone. The needlework she had begun was finished at her request. She selected those whom she wanted to carry her body to its last resting lace. She gave to each member of the family a present, an expression of her love for them. A useful life has ended, and it seemed all to short; but eh memory of her many virtues will abide and live forever. Her body was laid to rest in Fort Grove cemetery after the services which were conducted by the writer, her pastor, by her own request. She leaves her father, mother, three brothers, and two sisters to mourn her departure. I wish to say to these bereaved ones that it is now your duty to wait a few more days on the border land, sheltered under the wing of the Almighty, and then you will cross over. Weep not. You will see her again, not cold in death as you last saw her on earth, clothed in robes for the tomb, but you will se her n "robes washed and made white int he blood of the Lamb." May God bring you at last to join the sainted loved one in those heavenly mansions of rest prepared for all the faithful in Christ Jesus. Clift M.
