C.S.A. to be the wife of Alexander Smith Article from newspaper: name and date not in document Alex Smith living near the county line between Warren and Coffee counties in the Viola country, met with a fatal accident last Friday night, which culminated in his death, the following Saturday night. He was visiting a neighbor and started to his home late at night, and on the way his horse became unruly and rearing back and fell over, catching Mr. Smith under him and so crushing him that he died from the effects of the hurt. He lay where his horse fell till about seven o'clock Saturday morning, when he crawled about one fourth of a mile to the nearest house, from whence he was taken hom in a wagon, where he died.
