Coffee County Book H 1854-1857 P Index Deed: Alexander Powell to Martha Wilson, Coffee, Tennessee 1855 For the love and affection I entertain for my daughter Martha Wilson I do hereby grant and convey to her the said Martha Wilson the following slaves Vez, a woman named Mary about twenty years and two children one a boy named Dick in his fourth year the other an infant girl named Manda. The above described negros are estimated to be worth nine hundred dollars and the said Martha Wilson acknowledges the receipt of that sum as an advancement from me to her toward her interest in my estate I warrant said negroes to be sound healthy and senseble and slaves for life and also warrant and defend the title to the same to the said Martha Wilson her heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons whatever This 15th day of October 1855.
