Coffee County Book H 1854-1857 P Index Deed: Alexander Powell to Frances Bryan, Coffee, Tennessee 1856 For the love and affection I entertain for my daughter Frances Bryan I do hereby give grant and convey to her the said Frances Bryan the following slave Vez, a girl named Esther about nine years old. The above described negro is estimated to be worth four hundred and fifty dollars and the said Frances Bryan acknowledges the receipt of the sum as an advancement from me to her towards her interest in my estate. I warrant said negro to be sound healthy and senseable and a slave for life and also warrant and defend the title to the same to said Frances Bryan her heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons whatever.
