Powell I hereby give transfer and convey to him a tract of land in Coffee County Tennessee district number nine containing by estimation one hundred and ninety acres be? the same more or less and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning on a Blk Jack in the west boundary line of David Ross's five thousand acre tract, then N 3 West 258 poles to a planted stone in said West boundry line in the Short Mountain Road thence East 92 1/2 poles to a planted stone pointer in Cynthia Smiths line thence with her line S 3/4 W 82 poles to her corner; a stake in a stone pile and pointer, thence S 74 E 72 poles to a small cedar and Mulberry in said Smith line thence S 25 1/2 W 140 1/2? poles to a planted stone, an thence? east edge of orchard, thence West 10 poles to a planted stone in the orchard thence S 3 W 60 poles passing? between the springs to a planted stone in the field, thence S 70 E 12 poles to a planted stone, thence South 55 poles to a planted stone and pointer Jo. Waggoner's Northwest corner thence west 129 poles to the beginning. The said Darius J. Powell acknowledges the receipt of one thousand dollars the estimated value of the above recited tract of land as an advancement from me to him toward his interest in my estate. To have and to hold the same to the said Darius Powell his heirs and assigns forever. I warrant and agree for myself and heirs to warrant and defend the title of the said tract of land to the said Darius J. Powell his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever this 12th day of July 1856.
