This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Mary Ann Null maryann@jcn1.com ==================================================================== WILL OF CHARLES MOORE I, Charles Moore of the county of Coffee & the State of Tennessee, being weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, to wit, is my will and desire that my Executor pay my funeral expenses and all my just debts out of any money that may be on hand at the time of my death or out of the first money that can be collected from the sale of my property. 2nd I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Moore during her natural life my land on which I reside, five negros, Towel, Charles, Mariah, Manuel, Matty and her child Ann, and their future increase, two choice horses, three featherbeds, steads and furniture, four cows and calves, my oxen, and cart, all my poultry, a years provisions, $100 in money, my tables and chairs,-------cupboard, kitchen furniture and 20 choice stock hogs. 3rd I give to my daughter, Sarah F. Franklin, during her natural life and then to her children, a negro girl named Rachel and her future increase. Said negro to be valued by her by disinterested men in part of her potion of my estate and which not to subject to the payments of her husbands debts and should a share amount to more than the value of the said negro the amount above that to be placed in the hands of a trustee and for her to draw annually the interest there on to use and at my wife's death that the share of my daughter Sarah F Franklin be placed also in the hands of a Trustee and for her to drauw annually the interest to use. 4th I will and desire that the balance of my negros not named above, be valued by disinterested men and put into lots and drawn for and divided as follows that William Moore, Benjamin Moore, Sophia Fricke, Jane Scruggs, Susan Hoover, and Eliza Thomas each draw a share to make them equal with Sarah F. Franklin and the two children of my son Robert, deceased, draw only ½ share between them and that Martha A. Muse, daughter of my daughter, Martha Muse, deceased, draw 1/2½are. 5th I will and desire that the balance of my property not heretofore named that may be on hand at the time of my death be sold to the highest bidder on 12 months credit and the proceed divided as above named.
