He was 74, a Methodist, born and reared in this county. Funeral services were held Sunday at Cypress Church with burial in that place. He leaves his wife; one son, William CLARK, of Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Sue DAVIS, Mrs. Margarette NORVILLE and Mrs. Dorris May WEBB, all of Alamo; one sister, Mrs. Mary GIBBONS, of Memphis; one half-sister, Mrs. Clevie WATKINS, of Alamo; and two half-brothers, Frank CLARK, of Alamo and Victor CLARK, of Paragould, Ark. EVANS & YOUNG--Miss Louise YOUNG, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. E. D. YOUNG, of Gadsden, became the bride of William Thomas EVANS, son of Mrs. Nell EVANS and the late Andrew EVANS, of Alamo at 4 p. m. DEATH--Services for James V. SKIPPER, who died Wednesday morning of last week at his home near Bells, were held Thursday morning at the Church of Christ at Cross Roads, burial in Robertson Cemetery. He was a farmer, active in Bells Chamber of Commerce and lived all his life near Bells. He was 48. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Doris SKIPPER; five sons, Norman SKIPPER, M/Sgt. in the Army, James SKIPPER, Jr. Yeoman 1st Class in the Navy, Roy Thomas SKIPPER, Dannie SKIPPER and Rodney SKIPPER, all of Bells; and two daughters, Mrs. Thomas BARFOOT, of Memphis and Miss Judie SKIPPER, of Bells. W. LOVE, died at her residence in Dyersburg Friday. She was 45 years old, had been in ill health for 15 years, confined to her bed for the past two years. She had lived in Dyersburg since 1925, when the family moved here from Friendship. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Miss Catherine LOVE and Mrs. Bob GRIFFIN, of Dyersburg; her mother, Mrs. Kate TOWNSEND, of Dyersburg; five brothers, William TOWNSEND, of Memphis, Mark TOWNSEND, of RoEllen, Dawson TOWNSEND, of Dyersburg, (only three brothers named); four sisters, Mrs. Lola BASS of Friendship, Mrs. Mark COBURN, of Tigrett, Mrs. Louis HUNGERFORD, of Memphis and Mrs. Gene REED, of Dyersburg and two grandchildren. BELLS--Mr. & Mrs. Sims KENNER, of Texarkana, Texas, who were recently married, will arrive Friday to spend their vacation with his mother and sister, Mrs. Rose KENNER and Miss Eleanor KENNER. Y., the last of August. DEATH--A. L. COLTRAIN, for several years a merchant of Alamo, died at his home in Alamo early Wednesday. Because of illness, he had retired from buisness and assisted his wife and son, Everett in the floral business in Alamo for a number of years. He was 80. Burial in Alamo Cemetery. LLOYD, 42, died at his home in Jackson Friday morning following a long illness. Born in Crockett County, he had made his home here for the past 11 years. He was a farmer and WWII vet. Services were from Gadsden Baptist Church, burial at Gadsden. DEATH--Miles F. CAMPBELL, 71, who died at his home in Dyer County Friday were held Saturday in Curry Funeral Home. He leaves a brother, John CAMPBELL, of Bonicord and a sister, Mrs. Ida STANFIELD, of Lenox. BELLS--Dr. and Mrs. Edwin EDWARDS, of mcKenzie, are announcing the arrival of a daughter July 13th. She was born in Crockett County and was 75 years of age. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ida BASS and two step-sons, Homer EMERSON and Herman EMERSON, all of Alamo. L. DODDS, 76, died last Thursady at Rutherford where he had been making his home for several months with his daughter, Mrs. Stephen B. WILLIS. Burial was at Rutherford Friday. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Inez Peal DODDS; one son, Oscar L. DODDS, Jr. of San Luis Obespo, Calif.; two daughters Mrs. WILLIS and Mrs. W. D. LOCKMAN, of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Robert E. DEATH--Services for Tech. Sgt. David Marion COTTEN were held today, Thursday at Crockett Mills Christian Church, burial in Sudbury Cemetery. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. D. M. COTTEN. He was killed in a mission over Germany on July 19, 1944. He was 22. Sgt COTTEN volunteered and entered the service of his country in August 1942 with the 8th Air Force. He was first engineer and gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress with base headquarters in England and was awarded air metals and the Oak Leaf Cluster for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flights. He leaves his parents; a son, Marion Douglas COTTEN; two brothers, Joe R. COTTEN and Billy COTTEN; and one sister, Mary COTTEN. DEATH--Mrs. C. E. NORMAN, 70, widow of Rev. Charles E. NORMAN, died Friday in a Jackson Hospital. Burial in her hometown of Lexington. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Tury NORMAN & Mrs. Carter BEDFORD, both of Jackson, Mrs. Lee JONES and Mrs. Joe P. APPLEBY, both of Lexington, Mrs. Jack BERRY, of Westfield, N. J., H. CLARK, who died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital, Humboldt, were held Saturday at the Holmes Funeral Home in Trenton. He was 80, born near Friendship. KELTNER passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. S. WEBB in the Providence community July 17th, at the age of 72. She and Mr. KELTNER were married in October 1895 and lived together near 54 years. Services were held on July 18th at the Providence Church burial in Providence cemetery. She is survived by her husband; six sons, Printess F. KELTNER, W. Ira KELTNER, and Woodrow KELTNER, all of Bells, Guilford KELTNER and Richard KELTNER, both of Memphis; two daughters, Mrs. E. S. CLARK who died Saturday at Western State Hospital. Burial in Bellevernon Cemetery. He was born in Friendship and lived in this community practically all his life. He was devoted to his mother, the late Mrs. Mary CLARK and family. Following the death of his father, he was head of the house for a number of years. He leaves five sisters, Mrs. Mollie SMITH, Mrs. J. W. COMBS, Mrs. Nannie JONES and Miss Ella CLARK, all of Memphis and Mrs. J. F. MILLER, of Pittsburg, Pa.; and brothers, Jesse CLARK, of Tigrett and Ira CLARK, of Memphis. The negro man who was driving the tractor pulling the trailer, picked the man up as a hitchhiker near Johnson's Grove. Mrs. Charles GOODWIN of Dyersburg identified him as Homer NUNNERY of Collierville after reading the story in the Commercial Appeal. Burial was in Camden where he formerly lived until 2 years ago. DEATH--Marvin Levy EMISON, farmer of near Bells, died early Friday after several weeks illness. He was 69, born and reared in Crockett County, son of Levy & Lucinda EMISON. GRANT, who was born and reared in Bells, had lived in Memphis a number of years, passed away Saturday evening at his home in Memphis. The body was brought back to Bells for burial. She was born in Nashville and came to Crockett County at the age of 17 to teach school and was a teacher in the county schools for 55 years. C. PIERCE, of Crockett Mills, to Reggie B. INGRAM, son of Mr. & Mrs. A. H. INGRAM, of Ferrum, Va., were announced today. The wedding is planned for October 15th at 6 p. m. at the Chapel on the Hill. TAYLOR REUNION--The children of the late Abe P. and Mary Jerigan TAYLOR held their reunion at the home of Mrs. Annie EMERSON at Fruitvale Sunday, September 18th. Seven children were born of this union, all survive: Annie, 73; Latta, 70; Beatrice, 66; Dovie, 63; Verbia, 60; Lizzie, 57: and Alta, 51. BELLS--Mrs. Earl MOORE is in Memphis helping take care of her first grandson. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Dalton MOORE. DEATH--Services for Lee ARCHER were held Sunday at Archer's Chapel Church, burial in church cemetery. He was 58 and had been in failing health for 20 years. He suffered a stroke and died Friday afternoon. He leaves his wife, Mrs. N. L. ARCHER; his mother, Mrs. Emma ARCHER of Gates; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth ARCHIBALD, of Halls, and Mrs. Martha Jean GILLIARD, of Gates; five sons, J. P. ARCHER, Methodist minister of Moscow, Tenn., Joseph ARCHER, George T. ARCHER, John ARCHER, and Charles M. ARCHER, all of Gates; two sisters, Mrs. H. E. JORDON, of Forked Deer and Mrs. J. A. GILLIAND of Gates; six brothers, Sam ARCHER, Frank ARCHER, Chester ARCHER, Ed ARCHER and Lonnie ARCHER, all of Gates and Marvin ARCHER of Chicago. DEATH--John Morris KINCAID, son of John and Ida KINCAID, was struck by a hit and run driver at Blytheville Ark., Wednesday morning and died three hours later in the hospital there. His burial was held in the Memorial Cemetery in Blytheville. John was born in Crockett County January 20th, 1901. He leaves a brother, Marshall KINCAID, of Memphis; and two half-brothers
