A. Jernigan Rites Held At Bells BELLS, Tenn., June 2 -- Funeral services for Mrs. C. A. Jernigan, 76, were held at Cross Roads Baptist Church at 2:30pm Sunday, the Rev. Mr. Todd, pastor officiating. Burial, with Gooseman Funeral Home in charge was in Bellevue Cemetery, Bells. Mrs. Jernigan died at 5:30pm Saturday at Webb-Williamson Hospital, Jackson, after a three day illness. Mrs. Jernigan had 11 children, 105 grandchildren, and 53 great-grandchildren. Born at Selmer, Tenn., she had lived in Crockett County for the past 25 years. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Her children are Robert, Walter, and Bryan Jernigan of Bells, Hubert Jernigan of Camden, Tenn., Huey Jernigan of Memphis, Tenn., Miss Ollie Teague Jernigan of Selmer, Mrs. Ruth Donaldson and Mrs. Mary Rayburn of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Mary Rebdles of Ramer, Mrs. Pearl Blurton of Brownsville and Mrs. Myrtle McCarley of Bells; two brothers, J. J. Teague of Selmer and Buddy Teague of Ramer. Additional Comments: Sarah was born to John Thomas Teague and Nancy Jane Johnson on 24 Mar 1876. Her husband was Cornelius Alexander "Neely" Jernigan who is also buried in Bellevue.
