Funeral services were conducted July 4,2000, from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Creston Cemetery. Bros. Larry Potter, Elmer Graham and Eddie Chaney officiated. Pallbearers were Richy Houston, Eddie Norris, Freddie Parsons, Jake Davis, Danny Murphy, Steve Davis, John Davis, Donny Davis and Tim Davis. Mrs. Ashburn was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Cumberland County,TN.,the daughter of Roland and Bessie Pearl Smith Davis. She was a homemaker, and she was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include her husband, Dude Ashburn of Crossville,TN.; five daughters, Marsha Houston, Charlene Pigg, Connie Garrett, Rose Swafford and Beverly Dixon, all of Crossville,TN.; four sons, D.M. Murphy, Roger Norris, Eddie Norris and Matthew Ashburn, all of Crossville,TN.; sisters, Eller Burks of Crossville,TN., and Mae Bowdell of Indiana; brothers, Hollis Davis, Lane Davis and Bobby Davis, all of Crossville,TN.,; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Additional Comments: NOTE*** I have noticed sometimes the fathers name is spelled 'Rollin' Davis, instead of 'Roland',this might help in your other research...of this family.
