CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Effie Mae Asberry, 6 Jul 1997 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Sept. 30, 1910 -July 6, 1997 Effie Mae Asberry, 86, of Wells Road, Crossville,TN.,passed away July 6,1997,in Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 8,1997, from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. She was born Sept. 30, 1910 in Overton County,TN., the daughter of Allen and Etlee Cole Mabrey. Mrs. Asberry had been employed at Cumberland Laundry and was a member of Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma and Rainey Brown of Crossville,TN., and Velma and Clyde Pedigo of Kingston,TN., son and daughter- in-law, Lee and Derothia Asberry of Crossville,TN., five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lydia Branstetter of Deerlodge,TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Asberry; daughter Sue Asberry Threet; brothers, Fred, Willy, Arde, and Dewey Mabrey; and sisters, Ida Padgett and Dorothy Kyle. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Charles Asberry, Michael Asberry, Jimmy Pedigo, Jimmy Inman Jr., Steve Threet, Michael Lee Asberry and Jeremy Asberry. Bros. Bryan Findley and Marvin Seegraves officiated, with special music by Burton and Marie McNeil.
