CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - William A. Barnes --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- William A. Barnes Feb. 12, 1936 - April 23, 2003 Funeral services for William Arlie Barnes, 67, of Crossville, passed away April 23, 2003 , services were conducted April 25 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Bros. Richard Bane and Arthur Q. Smith officiated, with special music by the Tennessee Gospel Aires and DeWayne Wagner. Mr. Barnes was born Feb. 12, 1936 in Bledsoe County, TN, the son of Homer and Nellie Pauline Rines Barnes. He was in dry wall construction and a member of the Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Betty "Sue" Rice Barnes of Crossville; sons, Richard A. Barnes of Dayton, OH, Jerry L. Barnes of Ramstein AFB of Germany and Ivan D. Barnes of Crossville; grandchildren, Richard, Dustin, Brittany, Anthony, Savannah, J. and Rebecca Sue; brothers, Denzle Barnes of Crossville, Buck Barnes of Dayton, OH, Clifford Barnes of Clarkrange, Charles Barnes of Cleveland, OH and Bobby Barnes of Crossville; and sisters, Lucille Mooneyhan, Bertha Sherrill, Sue Maynard and Mildred Moore, all of Crossville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in his brothers, Gordon and Clayton Barnes; and sisters, Pearl Matthews and Joyce Davis. Pallbearers were Dallas Hedgecoth, Tim Maynard, Donathan Barnes, Sam Sherrill, Roger Brown, Dan Sherrill, Bill Sherman and Homer Matthews.
