Charles Laverne Barnes
Feb. 21, 1925-July 7, 2000
 
Charles Laverne Barnes, 75, of Fairfield Glade, TN. , passed away 7 July,
2000, at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville, TN. 

Funeral Services will be conducted 12 July Wednesday , at St. Vincent's
Catholic Church, with burial in Highland Park Cemetery, in Fort Wayne,
Indiana. 

Mr. Barnes was born 21 Feb. , 1925, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of
Ernest and Marie Pyatt Barnes. 

Mr. Barnes was a bricklayer. He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the U.
S.  Army during World War II. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter,  Erva Newbury; and two sons,  John
Barnes and James Barnes. 

Survivors include his wife,  Erva Decker Barnes of Fairfield Glade; two
sisters,  Janice Castellani of Trucks,  PA,  and Esther Johnson of Live Oak,
FL; two granddaughters,  Cheryl Newbury of Angola,  IN,  and Michelle Newbury-
Goodrich of Huntertown,  IN; and two great-grandchildren,  Logan and Lauren. 

Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
