Edna Ruth Barnes, 76, of Webb Avenue,  Crossville,  TN. passed away July 11,
1998. Funeral services were held July 12 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral
Home with burial in Linary Cemetery.  

Mrs. Barnes was born May 28, 1922 in Cumberland County, TN. , the daughter of
Earl and Belle Patton Hassler. 

She was a member of Linary Church of Christ, she was the manager of Cumberland
Wash N Dry Laundry. 

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law,  Bobby and Peggy Houston of
Crossville; daughter and son-in-law,  Darlene and Vic Tollett of Crossville;
grandchildren,  Angela Shadden,  Missy Hedgecoth,  Teresa Tollett,  Tim
Houston,  Jason Tollett and Ean Tollett; great-grandchildren,  Alexis Houston
and Cody Hedgecoth; and sister,  Effie Tollett of Crossville.  

She was preceded in death by her husband,  Aubrey Barnes; brothers,  Virgil,
Elmo and Bill Hassler; and sisters,  Lola Ray and Cora Lewis.  

Pallbearers were David Hassler,  Lane Tollett,  Steve Hassler,  Jeff Hassler, 
Sonny Lewis and Tim Houston.  

Bro.  Mitchell Covington officiated. 

Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
