CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Harry Paul Bristow, 3 Nov 2000 ----¤¤¤---- July 4,1922-Nov.3,2000 Funeral services were conducted Nov. 6,2000, from the chapel of Burris Funeral Home, for Harry Paul Bristow, 78, of Crossville,TN.,who passed away Nov. 3, 2000. Burial in Linary Cemetery. Dennis Lovell officiated. Full military honors were given by a Veterans Honor Guard from Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 741; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6277; and American Legion, Post 135. Squad leader of the Veterans Honor Guard was Roy Tudor. Pallbearers were members of VFW Post 5025, Dick Lee, Coleman Vandever, Ken Wagoner, Jerry Hinek, Gene Beyer and John Senko. Flag folders were DCC Bob Quesenberry and SK2 Curtis Clarkson. Flag presenter was DCC Bob Quesenberry. Riflemen were Curt Tays, Bill Lee, Curt Floyd, Vic Humeniuk, Boots Pierce, Al Williams and Bobby Floyd. Mr. Bristow was born July 4, 1922, the son of Charles and Lou Houston Bristow. He served 20 years in the U.S. Navy as chief petty officer, achieving numerous medals. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Chattanooga, TN. Survivors include his wife, Frances E. Bristow of Crossville,TN., son, James R. Bristow of Crossville,TN., daughter, Donna M. Bristow of St. Petersburg, FL; stepdaughter, Judy A. Oster of Chattanooga,TN., sisters, Lillie Sherrill of Crossville,TN., and Katie Durham of Wooster, OH; four grandchildren, Erin Edwards, Angie Hughes, Emily Oster and Justin Oster; and one great-grandchild, Evan Mason Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lou Bristow; brothers, Daniel "Avery" Bristow and Charles "Tad" Bristow; and sisters, Mary Kemmer, Nannie Reed and Flo Gobel.
