CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Charles C. "Tad" Bristow, 28 Jan 1997 ----¤¤¤---- Oct.18,1924-Jan.28,1997 Charles C. "Tad" Bristow, 72, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, passed away Jan. 28, 1997. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Jan. 31,1997, from the David Bogner Funeral Home of North Ridgeville with interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Rev. Bill Shomo officiated. Mr. Bristow was born in Cumberland County,TN., and lived in North Ridgeville,Ohio, for 50 years. He was retired from General Telephone. He was a sonar operator in the Navy during World War II. He was a charter member of VFW Post 9871 in North Ridgeville, a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a former member of the Elyria Moose Club. He had also been a member of the Linary Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lou Bristow; brother, Daniel; and sisters, Flora Goble and Mary Kemmer. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; sons, Robert of Los Angeles, Thomas of Sheffield Lake and Richard of Elyria; daughters, Sandra Sopko of North Ridgeville and Kelley Kommersmith of Elyria; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Bristow of Crossville,TN., and sisters, Katherine Durham of Wooster and Lillie Sherrill and Nannie Winningham, both of Crossville,TN.
