Ona Mae Davis

Oct. 17, 1919 - March 6, 2002



Ona Mae Davis, 82, of Cookeville,TN., passed away March 6, 2002. Funeral 

services were conducted March 9,2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in 

Monterey,TN., with interment in Smith Chapel Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. 

The Rev. David Corley and the Rev. Ron Allen officiated.

Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Wilder, TN, the daughter of Dillard and 

Cora Phillips Miller.

She was a homemaker, and had worked with Upper Cumberland Human Resources 

Agency. She was a member of Living Hope Church in Cookeville,TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Davis; son, Tony Davis; sister, 

Lorene Scott; brother, Elmer Miller; grandson, Michael Burks; and son-in-law, 

Den Burks.

Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Burks of Dayton, OH, Diane McElihiney 

of Nashville and Cindy Huff of Cookeville,TN.; sons, Terry Davis of Dickson, 

TN, Harry Davis of Monterey,TN., and Don Davis of McMinnville, TN; sisters, 

Myrtle Burks and Rosie Winningham, both of Dayton, OH, Inez Smith of 

Clarkrange, TN, and Lena Todd of Bainbridge, OH; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-

grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis' grandsons served as pallbearers.

Goff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
