Sylvester Davis

Oct. 30, 1925 - April 19, 2003



Sylvester Davis, 77, of Crossville,TN., passed away April 19, 2003. Funeral 

services were conducted April 22,2003, from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, 

with burial in Woody Cemetery. Bro. Dave McCammon and Bro. Jackie Thompson 

officiated, with special music by Reba Reed.

Mr. Davis was born Oct. 30, 1925 in Cumberland County, TN, the son of Roba and 

Rissie Pearl Tabor Davis.

He was retired from the United States Army, having served his country during 

the Korean and Vietnam wars and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He 

enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eula Mae 

Dunlap.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Coffelt Davis of Crossville,TN.; sons and 

daughters-in-law, David "Red" and Pat Davis of Crossville and Roba and Kathy 

Davis of Ames, IA; daughters, Marcia Henderson and Sylvia Davis, both of 

Crossville,TN.; brothers, Jackson Junior Davis, Richard Carl Davis and Olen 

Jimmy Davis, all of Crossville,TN.; sisters, Mary Lee Kailvoda, Ernestine 

Blaylock, Geraldine Pugh and Maxine Beaty, all of Crossville,TN., Christine 

Keys of Michigan and Edith Wesler of Paris, OH; grandchildren, Mark Pryor, 

Jessica Regen, Tiffany Davis, Trevor Davis and LouAnn Henderson, all of 

Crossville,TN., Tyler Crowder and John Crowder, both of Iowa; and great-

grandchildren, Maryanne Regen and Bryant Regen.

Pallbearers were Drew Davis, Rocky Davis, Ralph Davis, Donnie Davis, Jake 

Davis, D.M. Murphy, Danny Murphy, Eddie Norris and Roger Norris.

Hood Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
