Alva N. Davis

April 20, 1925 - Feb. 4, 2004



Alva Neil Davis, 78, of Crossville,TN., passed away Feb. 4, 2004. 

Funeral services were conducted Feb. 7,2004, from the chapel of Hood Funeral 

Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. 

Bro. Tony Wilson and Bro. Gary Robbins officiated, with special music by the 

Pine Eden Church Singers.

Mr. Davis was born April 20, 1925 in Cumberland County,TN., the son of James A. 

and Letha Ann Lewis Davis.

He was retired from Crossville Rubber as a die cutter and a member of Pine Eden 

Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran, having served our country during World 

War II. He loved gospel singing, gardening and greatly loved spending time with 

his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davis of Crossville,TN.; son and daughter-

in-law, Ted and Ann Davis of Chickamauga, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Margie 

and Ronald Burns of Crossville,TN., Rose and Reid Andrews of Hixson and Janie 

and Greg Lack of Crossville,TN.; brothers, William R. Davis of Massachusetts 

and James Elmo Davis of Ohio; sisters, Georgia (Lennis) Ryerson of Newark, OH 

and Mary Lee Bolin of Crossville,TN.; grandchildren, Brian Burns, Rhonda Burns, 

Dwayne Davis, Brent Davis, Renee Andrews, Jason Andrews and Jana Lack; great-

grandchildren, Elizabeth Kemmer and Sami Kemmer; step-grandchildren, Jeff 

Sitton, Jill Russell, Tammy Sitton and Chad Lack; and step-great-grandchildren, 

Jonathan Sitton, McKenzie Russell, Christian Hayden, Chris Kemmer and Todd 

Kemmer.

Pallbearers were Brent Davis, Brian Burns, Jim Kemmer, Chad Lack, Ricky Neely, 

Jeff Sitton and Jason Andrews.

Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC was in charge of the arrangements.
