J.T. Henry, 73, of Sparta,TN. passed away Dec. 28, 1996. Funeral services were 
conducted Monday, Dec. 30,1996 from the Sand Springs Church with interment at 
at the Sands Springs Cemetery. Rev. Jack Gentry and Rev. Elmore Judd 
officiated. He was a minister in the Upper Cumberland area for over 47 years. 
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Johnson Baptist Church. Mr. 
Henry was born Oct. 9, 1923 in Putnam County to the late Jonah and Alice 
Wilhite Henry.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Whiteaker Henry of Sparta; daughters, 
Geraldine Harris of Monterey, Jo Anna Henry of Sparta and Amanda Jones of 
Sparta; son, Raymond Henry of Monterey; sister, Christine Johnson of Monterey; 
brothers, Rev. S. T. Henry of Livingston and Riley Henry of Monterey; seven 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Goff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
