CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mary Ammie Martin, 9 Oct 1998 ----¤¤¤---- March 19,1900-Oct.9,1998 Mary Ammie Martin, 98, of Old Rockwood Road, Crossville,TN., passed away Oct. 9, 1998, Funeral services were held Oct. 11,1998, from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. Buford Kelley officiated. Pallbearers were Doug Tabor, Marshall Tabor, John Eggers, Charles Martin, Lee Beaty, Steve Williams, Chance Byars and Charlie Norris. She was born March 19, 1900, in Sparta, TN, the daughter of Charles Guy Black and Linnie Snodgrass Black. Mrs. Martin was a school teacher and a post master, and she was of the Methodist faith. She was an active member of the Eastern Star, Legion Auxiliary and the Business and Professional Women's Club. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and George Peavyhouse, and Rachel and Vernon Tabor, all of Crossville,TN., nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Martha Hall of Crossville,TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.O. Martin; son, Charles W. Martin; daughter, Linnie Williams; and sister, Corinne Black.
