August 7,1925-April 15,1997

Grover Cleveland Parsons Jr., 71, of Highway 70N,  passed away April 15, 1997 
at home. Funeral services were conducted April 17,1997 at Liberty Baptist 
Church with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. The Rev. Bill Smith 
officiated, with special music by the church choir.  Pallbearers were Randy 
Harris, Lane Madewell, Gary Bryant, Wayne Madewell, Steve Pugh and Lowell 
Pugh.  He was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Cumberland County, TN. the son of Grover 
C. Parsons Sr. and Virginia Roy Parsons. 

Mr. Parsons was and employee of the state highway department and a member of 
Liberty Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. 

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Parson, Crossville; son and daughter-in-
law, Robert and Jeanette Parsons, of Crossville; five grandchildren; one great-
grandchild; sisters Sue Russell of Hamilton, Ohio, Joyce Bryant, Geneva Wilson 
and Jewell Pugh, all of Crossville; and brother Bill Parsons of Ohio. 

He was preceded in death by parents, Grover Sr. and Virginia Parsons; daughter 
Brenda Jean Wyatt; and brother Robert Parsons.  Bilbrey Funeral Home was in 
charge of the arrangements.
