Homer J. Smith
Aug.20,1898-March 9,1998
 
Homer J. Smith, 99, of the Claysville community  passed away 
March 9, 1998.Funeral services were held March 12,1998, 
from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in 
Creston Cemetery. 
Bro. R.K. Chadwick officiated, with special music by Debby 
Hensley and Dwanda Deck.
Pallbearers were Marty Bogard, Terry Bogard, Norman Woody, 
William Woody, Allen Hensley and A.L. Woody. 
He was born Aug. 20, 1898 in Cumberland County, TN.,the son 
of Frank and Fannie Gardner Smith. 
Mr. Smith was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughters, Gertie M. Sheppard of Beach 
Island, SC, and Alice F. Hensley, Muriel S. Eldridge, and Betty 
Lee Chadwick, all of Crossville,TN.; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-
grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Smith, and son, 
Paul T. Smith.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
