GRIZZARD CEMETERY
Goodlettsville, Davidson Co., Tennessee
Off Conference Drive
Near Windsor Green Apts. on Mansker's Creek

One Acre of Land Surrounded by Stone Wall Fence left by William GRIZZARD 
in his Will for Family Cemetery of his heirs.

Area Construction seems to have preserved the area.  Many of the graves 
are sunken (thus finding them) and stones are leaning, some broken.  
Some small field rocks are visible standing on ends but no other markers 
were found with inscriptions.  Heavy periwinkle vine gound cover makes 
search difficult.

Additional Comments:
This cemetery is now in a housing/apartment complex, but not disturbed...much. 
It is located across the Mansker Creek from the Bowen-Campbell House in 
Moss-Wright Park. It was left by William Grizzard in his will for his heirs.  
His daughter, Celia was married to Joshua Neely, grandson of William Neely 
who settled Neely's Bend in Madison.  She was my great-great grandmother 
making William my g-g-g-grandfather.  Joshua & Celia lived in the "old 
brick" as the house was referred to by my grandfather, Will Young Neely 
who lived there until he was about 9 years old.  The creek flooded and 
he said they got out of the house in a boad and never went back.  His sister, 
Essie, is buried in the cemetery.  Word was she took sick after the flood and 
died, age 16, from consumption.
