This indenture made this twenty fifth day of February eighteen hundren and thirteen between Edmond Melvin on the County of Davidson and State of Tennessee of the one part and William Jackson of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesses that the said Edmond Melvin for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said William Jackson the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by these present both bargained and said unto the said William Jackson his heirs forever and certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Davidson on the south side of Stones Creek beginning at Robert Testa northwest corner on a dead cedar hence) west forty poles to an elm hence south thirty two poles to a dogwood, hence east forty poles to a hickong bush on the said Robert Testa's line thence along the said line to the beginning containing by estimation seven acres and a half be the same more or less together with the appertenances thereunder belonging and with all and singular the benefits and involvements there out and there fram to arise unto the said William Jackson or his heirs assigns to their only proper use and behalf forever and the aid Edmond Melvin for himself and his heirs and all other persons whatsoever the said tract of land with all its appertances unto the said William Jackson his heirs and shall and will warrant and forever defend in witness whereof the said Edmond Melvin both hereunto let his hand and seal the day and year above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of us Abner Cowgill Andrew Melvin. State of Tennessee, Davidson County court April ? 1813 this indenture of bargain and sale between Edmond Melvin on the one part and William Jackson of the other part was acknowledged in open court by the said Edmond Melvin to be his act and deed and ordered to be registered as I have done.
