DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - Hardy Murfree to Philip Pipkin, 1797 ----¤¤¤---- This indenture made the twenty second day of September in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven between Hardy Murfree of the county of Hertford in the State of North Carolina of the one part and Philip Pipkin of the county of Davidson and state of Tennessee of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in the consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifteen dollars to the said Hardy Murfree in hand paid by the sd Philip Pipkin at and before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the recpt & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged and bargained sold aliened ensuessed transfered conveyed and confirmed unto the sd Philip Pipkin his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and eighty acres, be the same more or less sitting lying and being in the county of Davidson State of Tennessee in the waters of Richland Creek adjoining the southern boundary of Francis Armstrongs preemption beginning at a red oak Armstrongs line running south with William Lucas' line... to a stake on Andrew Boyd's line...being a tract of land granted to Ladock Williams for his service in the North Carolina continental service and by the sd Ladock Williams conveyed unto the said Hardy Murfree.
