She was living in Lexington, Fayette County, Ky., June 16, 1854, when she made her application. She stated that her name was Jane Patrick before her marriage and that she married John Armstrong August 27, 1827, in Montgomery County, Ky., and that Thomas Boone, a preacher, performed the marriage ceremony. She stated that in 1836 John Armstrong started from Clark County, Ky., to Nashville, Tenn., on business and that she never saw him again. She believed that he died in Tennessee in 1847. The deposition of Allen Armstrong of Clark County, Ky., stated that he was the son of John Acrmstrong by his third wife, Jane Patrick, and that he had received a letter from relatives near Nashville, Tenn., about 1849, stating that John had died at the house of a man named Mike Emery at the age of nearly 100 years Michael Emery, William M.
