DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN - MILITARY - Richard Clinton, Revolutionary War Pension Application Abstract ----¤¤¤---- Richard Clinton, #S 2113 "...Richard Clinton while a resident of Camden, South Carolina enlisted in the spring of 1779 and served as a private three months in Captain McKorkle's Company, Colonel Marshall's South Carolina Regiment. He srved six months under Captain Petty and Major Dane, the date of enlistment not stated, during which service he lost his finger in a skirmish while en route from Camden to General Sumter's headquarters in Waxhaws. He was allowed pension on his application executed December 10, 1834 while a resident of Davidson County, Tennessee aged seventy-seven years. There is no data on file as to his family. The above noted is the only soldier of that name found on the Revolutionary War records of this Bureau.
