ALEXANDER EWING Lieut. Alexander Ewing's son made application in Davidson County, Tenn., for pension for Mrs. Sally Ewing, deceased widow of Alexander Ewing, as the son and administrator. Alexander Ewing was a Lieutenant in the 14th Regiment of Virginia Continental troops in the Revolutionary War. He was commissioned Sept., 3, 1777. He served until Jan., 1, 1782 when he resigned his commission. Later he received a North Carolina Military warrant in consideration of his services. After Alexander Ewing quit the service he moved to what is now Tennessee where in Davidson County, (then N. C.,) he married in 1788, Sally Smith. Alexander Ewing died April 9, 1822, leaving his widow, Sally Smith Ewing, who died June 15, 1840. She was born August 12, 1861. Alexander Ewing was born March 10, 1752. Alexander Ewing was wounded in the leg. Several papers concerning his service are included in his record with the signatures of John Jay, Brig. Gens. Muhlenberg and "Steuben," Major Gen.
