Biggers, 89, died Monday after a lengthy illness. She was the former Elizabeth Goodwin. A native of Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Allen Brooks Goodwin and Mary Charlotte Sharpe Goodwin, and the granddaughter of the late Nancy Caroline Cunningham Goodwin and Richard Baxter Goodwin of Virginia, and Ann Muirhead Sharpe of Virginia and Benjamin Sharpe, Jr. of Philadelphia. In 1900 she was married to Mr. Biggers, a [political]cartoonist for The Nashville Banner in the early 1900's and later a commercial artist for the Werthan Bag Corp. A native of Dickson Co.,Tennessee, he died in 1937. Mrs. Biggers was a member of West End Church of Christ. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Unland and Mrs. Frances Maxey; a son, James W. Biggers, Jr.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Betty Maxey Mehlenbacher, and two great grant-children, Mary Charlotte Mehlenbacher and Conrad Cyril Mehlenbacher IV. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
