Delany. In his early manhood he taught school and was also a photographer and having passed the half century mark and fallen asleep.. Besides a widow, four brothers and a sister survive, viz: St. Cryprian, Chicago; F. Soulouque, Louisville, Placido R., St. Louis; Miss Hallie A. the youngest; and A. Dumas of Arkansas. Their late father was the first colored officer of the US Army commissioned by President Lincoln in Jan. 1865.
