DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN - WILLS - Leavin (Levin) Edney, 8 Mar 1850 ----¤¤¤---- Will of Leavin (Levin) Edney Contributed by Debie Cox Source: Davidson County Original Wills - Metropolitan Archives of Nashville and Davidson County In the name of God Amen I Leavin Edney of the State of Tennessee and the County of Davidson being aged and infirm but thanks be to the Lord of sound mind and memory do make ordain and publish the following as my last will and testament. In the first place I desire that my boddy be buryed in a neat and Christian like manner at the discretion of my executor herein named and after my just debts are paid the ballance of my property to be disposed of in the following manner (to wit)I give and bequeath to my namesake Leavin Casey what land I hold on the south side of the turnpike road also twenty acres to be laid off by a right line out of the south end of my sisty acre tract in the hills but his mother Sally Casey to have the free use of both places dring her natural life. I give to my beloved wife Polly Edney one feather bed and furniture, one horse, one cow and calf, five ____ hogs, one sow and pigs, and my negro man Jack during her natural life all of which property is to placed in the possession of her neice Sarah E. Casey with whom it is my desire that my wife shall live and after the death of my beloved wife the property left to her to belong to her nephew Thomas Casey Junr, the balance of my land in the hills and on the north side of the turnpike road where I now live to be sold on a credit of twelve months and my nephew Leavin Carthwright son of Charles Cartwright to have five hundred dollars of that money to be paid to his father at any time when he may call for it also my negro boy John to be sold on the above credit with my stock of Jenets, Jacks, horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, my farming tools house hold and kitchen furniture to be sold as above. I give to Elizabeth Beals fifty dollats, also to Lorenzo D. Beals fifty dollars, also to John Kenada son of mary Kenada fifty dollars the ballance of money to be equally divided between the heirs of Loedica Kinght and Mary E.
