First, That my just and honest debts be paid. Second, I reserve one acre of land where my family are buried, for the free use of my family and connection as a burial ground. Said burial place to be free forever. Third, I want a good substantial plain rock fence around the above named burial ground. Fourth, This is to certify that I have given to the following named heirs the amount affixed to their names. L. H. Grizzard $1000.00, Greenville Grizzard $1000.00, Ambrose Grizzard $1000.00, to Mrs. Mary Wilson $1000.00, Alfred Grizzard $1000.00, Joshua Neely heirs $1000.00. By my daughter Celia Hunter Perry's heirs, by my daughter Sallie $1000.00, John Grizzard $1000.00, Christopher Grizzard $1000.00. To the heirs of my daughter Mrs. Martha Hamblen $1500.00 before there is any division of my estate. Fifth, At my death all of my property is to be sold and converted into money except one acre reserved above for a burial ground, which monies after $1500.00 has been paid to Mrs. Martha Hamblen's heirs is to be equally divided between the following named heirs: L. H. Grizzard heirs, Greenville Grizzard, Ambrose Grizzard, Alfred Grizzard, Mrs. Celia Neely's heirs, Mrs. Sallie Perry's Heirs, John Grizzard, Mrs. Martha Hamblen's heirs, Christopher Grizzard Heirs. I except the following named heirs who are indicated to my estate the amounts affixed to their names. Christopher Grizzard heirs $300.00. Mrs. Sallie Perry's heirs $700.00 John Grizzard $700.00, Joshua Neeley's heirs $400.00 and Alfred Grizzard $250.00 Sixth, I will to my daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilson, Two promissory notes against her son William Wilson and one promissory note against her son Daniel Wilson. Seventh, I will that James Sutor and others who bought my Ridge Land that they will be allowed two years after my death to pay the note I hold against them unless they drawn their pension money. Eight, I hereby appoint my son Ambrose Grizzard and W. H. Dismukes to be executors of this my last will and Testament without bond. Witness my hand and seal this July 25th 1882. Dismukes Page 229: State of Tennessee, Davidson County Court, October Term 1884 A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of William Grizzard, Deceased was produced in open Court. After probate and proved this A. G. Cloyd and W. H. Dismukes the subscribing witnesses thereto being first duly sworn depose saying that they became such at the request and in the presence of the testator and they verily believe that he was of sound and disposing mind and memory at the time of executing the same. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said paper writing be admitted to record as the last will and testament of William Grizzard deceased.
