DECATUR COUNTY, TN - CEMETERIES - Gardner Cemetery ========================================================================= David Donahue, the creator of this file, declares it to be in the public domain. ========================================================================= GARDNER CEMETERY (Wylie Cemetery) Decatur County, Tennessee The Gardner Cemetery dates to the 1820s, making it one of the oldest cemeteries in the southern part of Decatur County. The cemetery is labeled "Wiley Cem." on the U.S.G.S. Thurman quadrangle (1972). The access road is located on the east side of Brooksie Road about a mile or so south of Tennessee Highway 114, near Pleasant Grove Church. The cemetery is still in use despite its age and is well maintained. There are well over 100 unmarked and fieldstone- marked graves here. David Donahue recorded this cemetery in the spring of 1994 and checked and updated it November 9, 2004 Margarett Alexander recorded this cemetery in April 1977. Her record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records produced by the Nathaniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, pp. 217-226.
