DECATUR COUNTY, TN - CEMETERIES - Red House Cemetery ========================================================================= David Donahue, the creator of this file, declares it to be in the public domain. ========================================================================= RED HOUSE CEMETERY Decatur County, Tennessee This is an old cemetery in the Bath Springs community. It is indicated on the U.S.G.S. Bath Springs quadrangle (1972) in the short stretch where State Highway 114 and State Highway 69 run together. The cemetery is mown. The exact number of unmarked graves is difficult to estimate, but the cemetery probably is full. There are seven cut stone cairns. By 1996, the new Bath Springs Baptist Church Cemetery had been laid out east of Red House Cemetery; the two cemeteries are separated by a chain-link fence. The chain-link fence around Red House Cemetery probably dates to the 1950s or 1960s. However, unmarked Red House burials may extend beyond the fence into the northwestern corner of Bath Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. David Donahue recorded Red House Cemetery December 1996; updated it April 16, 2001; and checked and updated it late December 28, 2003. Blanche Tuten, Margarett Alexander, and Nancy Jones recorded the cemetery on June 25, 1976 and July 16, 1978. Their record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records published by the Captain Daniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, pp. 487-493. They note "at least 71 unmarked graves." This is referred to as Tuten et al. in notes below. Adams, Elcy, d. Feb. 19, 1909, Aged 26 ys 3 ms 28 ds, "Son of J.
