STILL CEMETERY

(Horney Head Creek Road)

Decatur County, Tennessee



            This is a small, well-maintained family cemetery 

on the south side of Horny Head Creek Road. The cemetery is 

indicated near the southeastern corner of the U.S.G.S. 

Holladay quadrangle (1987). There are four fieldstone-marked 

graves. David Donahue recorded this cemetery December 27, 1992 

and checked and updated it February 18, 2002.



            Margarett Alexander recorded this cemetery on July 

25, 1976. Her record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee 

Cemetery Records published by the Captain Daniel A. Wesson 

Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, 

Tennessee, 1984, p. 572. She counted four fieldstone-marked 

graves. This is referred to as UDC transcription in the notes

written by Margarett Alexander: "I interviewed Mrs. Queenie 

Still on the telephone — she states one unmarked grave is that 

of a Mrs. Still, the mother of Andrew Still, but she was 

unable to give me Mrs. Still's name or dates. The remaining 3 

unmarked graves were Fowler. Mr. Andrew Still started the 

graveyard."
