Hill to William Kolwyk This Indenture made and entered into this 28th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three Between John P. Hill of the one part and William Kolwyk of the other part both of the State of Tennessee & Decatur County. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of two hundred Dollars in hand paid by the said William Kolwyk the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the Said John P. Hill hath and doth for these presents bargain Sell Setover and convey to the Said William Kolwyk a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Decatur and State of Tennessee Containing Seventy three acres more or less in the 9th District 7th and 8th Range and 11th Section and on the waters of Cub Creek. It being a part of the tract of land containing one hundred and forty acres Granted to the Said John P. Hill. It being the South part of Said one hundred & forty acre tract No. 1891. Beginning on a hickory oak & Dogwood pointers and on the north boundary line of land Granted to James Johnson thence north 106 poles more or less to Cub Creek thence west with the meanderings of the Creek 106 2/3 poles to Simeon Bowman's Entry for 120 acres 9104 thence South with Simeon Bowman's line one hundred and six poles more or less to a hickory black oak and Dogwood pointers thence East 106 2/3 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid lands and bargain of premises to the only proper use of him the Said William Kolwyk his heirs and assigns forever and the said John P. Hill by these presents warrant and forever defend the title of the aforesaid land and bargain of premises from himself his heirs executors administrators and all manner of persons claiming or to claim whatsoever to the said William Kolwyk his heirs and assigns forever in witness whereof the Said John P. Hill hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and year above written Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of A. H. Henderson } John P. Hill (Seal) James Q.
