Baber to John C. Hill This Indenture made and entered into the first day of January 1880 Between E.F. Baber of the one part and John C. Hill of the other part Witnesseth that the Said E.F. Baber in the consideration of the Sum of two Thousand dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained Sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto the Said John C. Hill and his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land Containing one hundred one 1/2 acres more or less Situated and lying in Decatur County and State of Tennessee Bounded as follows: Beginning on the north west corner of J.K. Wood land and Runs thence north 102+ poles to a Stake thence East 26 poles to a Stake thence South 9 poles to a Stake thence East 130 2/3 poles thence South 102+ poles to a stake thence west 156 2/3 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold to the Said John C. Hill and his heirs and assigns forever I do covenant with the Said John C. Hill his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully Seized and possessed of Said land and have a good right to convey it and that the Same is unencumbered and I do further covenant and bind my Self heirs & assigns to warrant and forever defend the title to the Said land to the Said John C. Hill and his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful Claims of all persons whatever this the day and date above written Witness I hereunto set my hand and Seal E.F. Baber State fo Tennessee} Decatur County } Personally appeared before me John McMillan Clerk of the County Court of Said county E.F. Baber the Bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted who acknowledged that he Executed the foregoing Deed for the purposes therein contained on the day it bears date.
