Hill I, Dutton Hill for the love and affection that I entertain for James W. Hill son of Duton Hill do hereby transfer and convey unto James W. Hill and his heirs forever a tract or parcel of land in the State of Tennessee Decatur County and District No. 12 containing by estimation one Hundred & Ten Acres more or less and bounded as follows. Beginning at a Beech 8 poles North thence 8 poles (crossed through)^thence West 8 poles thence South 8 poles thence West to the East Boundary line in the name of James O. Brewer, thence North with Said line to his North East Corner thence West ten poles to a Stake thence North to the old Brodies Ferry Road thence East with the old Road to the Mouth of the ditch running South with said Creek to the Bridge thence East with said Road to the West Boundary line in the name of Susan Lawrence thence South with the same to the North boundary line of J.M. Graves thence West to said Creek South with said line to the Little Creek running South with said Creek to the cross fence to the conditional line between D. Hill & C. Hill running West with said fence to a Stake running North with said cross fence to the Brodies Ferry Road, running West with said Road to the Beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said James W. Hill, that I am lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered I do further Covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives & forever defend the title to the Said land and every part thereof to the said James W. Hill and his heirs against the the lawful claims of all persons whatever this the 10th day of January 1883 Dutton Hill Test W.D. Colwick} W. G.
