Hill & wife A.A. Hill to W.R. Harris This Indenture made the 26th day of October 1888 between J.W. Hill & A.A. Hill wife of J.W. Hill of the One part & W.R. Harris of the other part both of the County of Decatur & State of Tennessee (Witnesseth) That the said J.W. Hill in consideration of the sum of One thousand Dollars to be paid him by three installments the first Six hundred and thirty four Dollars to him in hand paid by W.R. Harris the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. The Second due the 26th day of October 1889 for Two Hundred Dollars. The third due the 26th day of October 1890 for One hundred Sixty Six Dollars for which promisory note are executed and delivered bearing date with this conveyance, hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth transfer and convey unto the said W.R. Harris his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land containing 80 acres more or less, situated and lying afore said in Civil District No. 12 Bounded as follows: Beginning at a Beech on the side of the Brodies Ferry road East of Dutton Hill's dwelling house, thence North eight poles, thence West 8 poles thence South 8 poles thence West to the East boundary line of James Brewer, thence North with said line to his North East Corner, thence West 10 poles to a Stake, thence North to D.M. Burketts South West Corner, thence East with Burketts South boundary line to Willow Creek, thence down Said Creek to the bridge, thence East with Said road to the West boundary line in the name of Susan Lawrence, thence South with the same to the North boundary line of W.G. Riggs, thence West to his North West Corner, thence South to the Willow Creek running South with said Creek to the cross fence to the conditional line between D. Hill and C. Hill, thence West with the said fence to a Stake running north with said Cross fence to the Brodies ferry Road, thence West with said road to the beginning. To Have and to hold to the said W.R. Harris his heirs and assigns forever I do covenant with the said W.R. Harris that I am lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further Covenant and bind myself, my heirs and representatives and forever defend the title to Said land to the said W.R. Hill privately & apart from her husband relative to her free execution of the within Deed and the same so taken to Certify under your hand and Seal Witness J.E. Hill having personally appeared before me and having by virtue of the Authority in me vested been examined privately and apart from her said husband and she having acknowledged the due execution of the within Deed by her freely, Voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed the same is therefore Certified. Rushing Register for said County do Certify that the foregoing Deed and Certificate are registered in Said Office in Book No. 10 on page 574 & 575. That they were received Dec. 24th 1888 at 10 Oclock A.M. and entered in Note Book E page 70 G.B.D. Rushing Register
