J.W. Hill & wife A.A. Hill to D.M. Burkett
This Indenture made and entered into on this the 5th day of March 1888
between J.W. Hill and Aura A. Hill wife of the said J.W. Hill of the 
State  of Tennessee Decatur County on the one part and D.M. Burkett of 
the State and County aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that the 
said J.W. Hill and Aura A. Hill wife of the said J.W. Hill for and in 
consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to them in hand paid 
by the said D.M. Burkett the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath 
given granted, bargained, sold aliened Conveyed and Confirmed, and by 
these presents doth give grant bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto 
D.M. Burkett, the following described tract or parcel of land situated 
in the State and County aforesaid on the waters of Cub Creek and bounded 
as follows towit  Beginning on a poplar thence west running with the cross 
fence to the west Boundary line 1.87 poles, thence North 4 poles to the 
old Brodies Ferry road then East with said Road to the bridge, on the 
ditch at W.M. Allen North West Corner, thence South with the meanderings 
of the Creek to a Stake thence West 1 pole to the beginning Containing by 
estimation 40 acres to have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and 
singular the rights profits emoluments herediaments and appurtenances of 
in and to the same belonging unto the said D.M. Burkett his heirs 
executors or administrators forever, and the said J.W. Hill and Aura A. 
Hill wife of the said J.W. Hill for themselves their heirs executors and 
administrators do Covenant and agree to and with the said D.M. Burkett his 
heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the title against the 
claims of any and all persons whatever  In Witness whereof we have this 
day set our hands and affixed our Seals to the foregoing Deed

Decatur County    }  Personally appeared before me J.E. Dees Clerk of the
County Court of Said County J.W. Hill the within named bargainer with whom 
I am personally acquainted and acknowledged that he executed the within 
Deed for the purposes therein Contained upon the day it bears date
Witness My hand at Office this March the 10th 1888.

   Decatur County }  To W.G. Riggs Justice of the Peace for Said Co.
                     You are hereby authorized and empowered to take 
the examination of Mrs. Aura Hill privately and apart from her husband 
relative to the free execution of the annexed Deed and the same so taken 
to Certify under your hand and Seal Witness J.E.Dees Clerk of the County 
Court of said County. Given under my hand at Office this March 10th 1888.

Decatur County    }  Aura A. Hill wife of J.W. Hill  Having personally 
appeared before me privately and apart from her said husband and she
having acknowledged the due execution of the annexed Deed by her freely
Voluntarily and understandingly without Compulsion or constraint from her
said husband and for the purposes therein Contained the same is therefore
certified   Given under my hand this March the 15th 1888
