Riggs State of Tennessee To all whoever it may concern Know ye that I have this Day bargained and Sold and do by these presents convey to Isaiah C. Riggs for the Sum of one hundred Dollars to me paid and the other considerations hereafter Set forth a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Decatur County and the above mentioned State civil District No (6) Containing by estimation thirty three and one half acres it being a portion of East End of an Eighty two acre Survey in the name of S.E. Shoemaker and Bounded as follows Beginning at the north East corner of Said Eighty two acres and L.T. Ransoms South East corner Runs South 60 poles to a Stake in the North line of two hundred acres in the name of S.M. Houston thence West passing a corner of the Same at 58 poles in all 87 poles to a Stake in a field thence North 30 poles to a cherry tree thence East 39 poles to a Stake thence North 30 poles to a Stake in the North line of Said Eighty two acres thence East 58 poles to the Beginning To have and hold the Same and every part thereof to the Said Isaiah C. Riggs his heirs and legal assigns forever I do covenant With the Said Isaiah C. Riggs that I am lawfully Seized of Said land have a good Right to convey it and that the Same is unincumbered I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and legal Representatives to Warrant and forever defend the title to the Said land and every part thereof to the Said Isaiah C. Riggs his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of any person what ever this September 1st A.D. 1877 Attest S.H. Houston Martha S. x Shoemaker (Seal) W.H. Houston the Subscribing Witnesses to the within deed who being first Sworn Deposed and Said that they are acquainted with Martha S.
