L. CANTRELL In this case, R. BLACK, a J. P. (Justice of the Peace) for DeKalb County, TN filed the papers showing that the Deft was brought before him on the above charge and legally acquitted. It is adjudged by the Court that Defendant be discharged and DeKalb County will pay the State cost in the case when properly taxed and certified. July 12, 1896 Page 5 THE STATE Vs /CARRYING A PISTOL R. L. CANTRELL In this case, R. BLACK, a J. P. Blankenship In this case it appearing that T. H. W. RICHARDSON, was a state witness and attended as such at November term 1895, five days, and is entitled to claim 22 miles, and that by oversight said Richardson’s attendance was not taxed. It is therefore adjudged that the sum of $5.88 be allowed said Richardson for attendance and mileage in this case, and the County Judge will issue him warrant for the same. July 24, 1896 Page 48 The State Vs. /PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS Tom Parish Came the Atty. General for the State and Deft (defendant) in proper person who being arraigned and charged for plea says he is not guilty. Then came a Jury of good and lawful men to wit: JAMES BROWN, I. N. SANDLIN, C. P. LORING, L. D. CANTRELL, HENRY JENKINS, M. M. BURTON, LAFAYETTE TAYLOR, W. C. HAYES, SOLOMON ROBINSON, JOHN MOSS, W. A. MOSS and SYLVESTER CROOK who upon their oaths do say Deft is not guilty. It is adjudged by the court that Deft be discharged and DeKalb County will pay the state cost in this case when properly taxed and certified. (In 1900 there was an Ike Sandlin and a Calvin Loring living in the county.) July 24, 1896 Page 48 THE STATE Vs ADAM HODGE In this case it appearing that T. H. W.
