TN court minutes and found some information which may be of interest to folks trying to research ancestors who were enslaved. I also listed the names of the guardian and those who provided security. October 1841 - The slaveowner, who was determined by 12 freeholders to be a "lunatic," was named Robert BULLOCK. The following slaves were listed: "Jacob 37, his wife Polly and their 6 children -- Fairney (?), Charles, George, Clarissey, Lewis, Ailey--, Edward 30 years, his wife Litty 26, and 2 children -- Isaac 8 yrs old and Rachel, inf--, William and Henry 16 years, Emily 25 years, and child 8 or 10 months, Eliza 20 years, John 25, Jasper 17, Milly 60, ..." The abstract goes on to record various household and farm items. John M. PARKS was appointed Mr. BULLOCK's guardian, and securities for $30,000 were provided by John R. HENDON, A. S. MATTHEWS, Wm. S. JOHNSON."
