Lasater T. H. Finch, C&M Transcribe by Dan S. Sharp from a copy of the original, 12 March 2003 * Handwriting of name consistently appears as "Leasater" throughout the deposition, but is signed by deponent as "Lasater." Note: Wm. Sharp is identified as "one of the six original heirs of James Sharp" in this deposition. In contrast, the March 5, 1838, probated will of William Sharp identifies James Sharp as one of six children, including Wm. Sharp, as sharing in the estate after all debts have been paid and property sold, although other children of William Sharp are identified in that will beyond these six. James Sharp is identified in an 1847 petition to the Franklin County Court (Project Preservation Loose Records, Box County Court Records 1840-1849, Folder #311) as having died intestate, requiring his widow, Mary Sharp, to claim her dower via court action. In that petition seven siblings of James Sharp are identified. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
