Your petitioner Mary Sharp would respectfully represent unto your honor that James Sharp Senr, a citizen of Franklin Count in said state, departed this life about the (blank) day of (blank) 1847 leaving the following persons his only heirs & legal representatives, to wit: Your petitioner Mary, widow of said James - Richard Sharp Sr & Robert Sharp, citizens of said county & brothers to said James - William Sharp of Bedford County, Tennessee, brother of said James - James & Richard Lassater of ["Franklin County" crossed out] Tennessee(inserted) & Robert E. Lassater of Coffee County, children of Abner & Mary Lassater deceased, formerly Mary Sharp and sister to said James - The ["issues & heirs" crossed out] children(inserted) of Jessee(sic) Corn Decd who died in Jackson County, Alabama, & who reside there, the number & names of whom are not known. Said Jesse(sic) was the son of sd Wm & Nancy Corn, deceased, formerly Nancy Sharp & sister to said James - The children of Cannon & Jemimah Moore, formerly Jemimah Corn, being three in number, to wit, William, George and a daughter whose name is not remembered, all citizens of said Franklin County. William Corn, Samuel Corn & James Corn, citizens of Jackson County, Alabama. Richard S. Corn, Francis M. Corn, Geo. W. Corn and Peyton Corn, citizens of said Franklin County. John Ferrel, a citizen of Alabama. Charles Ferrel of Coffee County, Tennessee. ["Polly Ferrel &" crossed out] The(inserted) children ["of Bedford County, Tennessee. Said Polly is the widow" crossed out] of Richard Ferrel, deceased, who was the son of James and Margaret Ferrel, deceased, formerly Margaret Sharp, sister of (inserted between lines): Said children are citizens of Bedford County, Tenn. The number & names are not known. said James Sharp, deceased. The children of James Ferrel, Decd, son of said James & Margaret, who are citizens of Texas, the number & names of whom are not known. Jesse Ferrel, a citizen of Texas & son of said James & Margaret. Robert Ferrel of Cannon County, Tenn. The children of Edmund Ferrel, deceased, who was the son of said James & Margaret, and who (inserted between lines): Number & names of whom are not known. are citizens of Texas. Sydney S. P. Vaugh(sic) & Jemimah his wife, formerly Jemimah Ferrel & a daughter of said James & Margaret, who are citizens of said Franklin County. David Lyons & Nancy his wife, formerly Nancy Ferrel & who is the daughter of said James & Margaret. Said David & Nancy are citizens of said Franklin County, & Fanny Ferrel, daughter of said James & Margaret and who is a citizen of said Franklin, & Francis Adams of Virginia, who is a daughter of John & Francis Hays, deceased, formerly Francis Sharp and a sister of said James Sharp deceased. Petitioner further shows unto your Honnor(sic) that at the term of the County Court held for the Count of Franklin ["She" crossed out] one (J.) A. Lockmiller of said county of Franklin & your petitioner were appointed Administrator & Administratrix of said decedent James ... & (to) (upon) themselves the administration of said estate. Petitioner further shows that she has not been indowed(sic) of any part of the before described lands of which her said husband died siesed(sic) of & she prays that her dower may be allotted to (her) (out) (of) said several tracts of land & for such other & further releaf(sic), that she in equity is entitled to. She further shows that said decedent died possessed of a considerable personal estate & owed but few debts & there will be assets more than sufficient to his debts.
